In the nomenclature of CD antigens this is the designation for the Beta subunit of the IL8 receptor (CXCR2, which is also the approved gene symbol). The old designation was CDw128b. The designation CD128 is not used.
CXCR2 has been identified as a target for the Staphylococcus aureus toxin HlgAB (see: Staphylococcus aureus gamma-toxin) (Spaan et al, 2014).
