CCL4L1
[CCL4-like-1] An alternative designation is SCYA4L1 [small inducible cytokine A4-like 1].
The protein encoded by the CCL4L1 gene differs from CCL4 by one amino acid. The protein appears to have the same bioactivities with respect to chemotactic activities for cells expressing CCR1, CCR3, or CCR5 as CCL4. It is thought that CCL4 and CCL4L1 are paralogous genes and that the proteins have redundant functions (Howard et al, 2004; Modi, 2004).
CCL4L2 [CCL4-like-2] is a telomeric copy of the CCL4L1 gene (Modi et al, 2004).
