[cardioactive peptide] A cardioactive peptide (ENFAVGCTPGYQRTADGRCKPTF) isolated from extracts of whole heads of the southern armyworm, Spodoptera eridania. The factor is inotropic at low concentrations and chronotropic and inotropic at high doses (Furuya et al, 1999). The factor is related to a series of peptides from other species designated as PSP-1 (plasmatocyte spreading peptide-1), GBP (growth blocking peptide), or paralytic peptide (PP).
