C1QBP

[complement component 1, q subcomponent binding protein] C1QBP is the approved gene symbol for a receptor that binds to the globular domain of C1q (Ghebrehiwet B et al, 1994; Eggleton et al, 1995). The receptor is, therefore, being referred to also as gC1qR [gC1q receptor]. The murine and human genes have been characterized by Lim et al (1998, 2001).

C1QBP is an evolutionarily conserved eukaryotic protein found in a number of eukaryotic species, ranging from fungi to mammals. The protein has been identified independently as HABP1 [Hyaluronan-binding protein 1], Mitochondrial matrix protein p32, and SF2p32 [ ... ... ... ...
