Bursal pentapeptide-3
[Bursal pentapeptide-III] abbr. BPP-III, BPP-3. This peptide, YEYAY, has been isolated by Feng et al (2012) from the chicken bursa of Fabricius, the central humoral immune organ unique to birds which plays important roles in B-lymphocyte differentiation. The peptide, which is one of several other bursal peptides, has immunomodulatory activity on B-cell antibody and cytokine production.
