Bombyxin

Bombyxin (abbr. BBX; also: Bombyxin A1) is a 5 kDa secretory brain peptide of the silkmoth Bombyx mori, synthesized by eight dorsomedial neurosecretory cells of the brain. The peptide consists of an A chain (GIVDECCLRPCSVDVLLSYC) and a B chain (QQPQRVHTYCGRHLARTLADLCWEAGVD). It was described initially as 4K-PTTH [4 kDa prothoracicotropic hormone].
