Beta-IG-H3

[TGF-beta-inducible gene H3] Abbr. also BIGH3. This gene (approved gene symbol TGFBI (transforming growth factor-beta-induced 68 kDa protein; TGF-beta-induced 68 kDa protein) has been identified originally as one the expression of which is upregulated in human adenocarcinoma cells treated with TGF-beta.

The human gene has been mapped to human chromosome 5q31, a region frequently deleted in preleukemic myelodysplasia and leukemia (see also: 5q minus syndrome).
