[B-2 cell]
This term (also: B-2 B-cells; B2 lymphocytes) refers to a subset of B-cells in adult mice, the majority of the B-cells in spleen and lymph nodes (Allman and Pillai, 2008). These cells are small, long-lived resting cells that express low levels of surface IgM, high amounts of IgD, and a variety of surface markers. Unlike a smaller subset, termed B-1 cells, these cells do not express the CD5 antigen that is found also on all T-cells.
