AmphiTob

AmphiTob (311 amino acids) is homologous with the invertebrate chordate antiproliferative Tob protein isolated from amphioxus. It is a member of the BTG family of antiproliferative proteins.

The authors suggest that, during development, intense and transitory transcription of AmphiTob may be an early event in cells exiting the cell cycle in preparation for differentiation.
