[B-cell translocation gene family] The founding member of this gene family was cloned from a chromosomal translocation of a B-cell chronic lymphocytic leukemia.
The family comprises a number of antiproliferative factors involved in the regulation of cell growth and cell differentiation (Matsuda et al, 2001). These genes are expressed rapidly, but transiently, in response to factors that induce growth arrest and subsequent differentiation.
