a monoclonal antibody that detects a surface antigen expressed on basophils, their CD34(+) precursor cells, and the basophil cell line KU-812. Bühring et al (2001) have reported that the antibody specifically detects the enzyme ENPP3 [ectonucleotide pyrophosphatase/phosphatase 3], expression of which is detected in basophils but not other peripheral blood cells. The new designation for this antigen is CD203c.
