The monoclonal antibody of this name has been isolated by Takahashi et al (1990) by immunization with a human B-lymphoma cell line and screening for growth inhibition. The antibody immuniprecipitates the 26 kDa protein TAPA-1 (CD81) and also a complex formed between CD81 and Leu13.
