The monoclonal antibody of this name has been generated by Miller et al (1987). The antibody identifies a protein that is lost from red blood cells of patients with Rh-null hemolytic anemia.
The antigen identified by this antibody has been shown to be identical with IAP [integrin-associated protein], and OA3 [ovarian carcinoma antigen 3], both of which are identical with CD47 (Lindberg et al, 1994).
