This antigen is recognized by the monoclonal antibody 12E7 and has been identified by Levy et al (1979) on T-cell acute leukemias, lymphoblastic lymphomas, and cortical thymocytes. The antigen is encoded by the MIC2 gene (Banting et al, 1985) and hence identical with CD99. See also: E2 antigen, CD99R)
