[yersinia adhesin A] (formerly called yopA [yersinia outer protein A], yop1 or protein P1). This protein is a non-fimbrial outer membrane protein encoded together with other virulence determinants by the virulence plasmid pYV found in human pathogenic species (Cornelis et al, 1998).

yadA has a variety of bioactivities and mediates, among other things, binding of bacteria to epithelial cells (Bukholm et al, 1990; Heesemann and Gruter, 1987), colonization of mouse intestines (Kapperud et al, 1987), binding of bacteria to collagen-1, collagen-2, collagen-3, collagen-4 ... ... ... ...
