[Sepia Capsule Releasing Peptide] This peptide, EISLDKD, is an ovarian regulatory peptide isolated from cuttlefish Sepia officinalis full-grown oocytes and oocyte conditioned medium. The peptide is able to inhibit the contractions of the whole female genital tract and of the main nidamental glands. SepCRP is expressed during vitellogenesis by the ovarian follicles and released by full-grown oocytes in the lumen of the female genital tract. It is thought that SepCRP is responsible for the storage of full-grown oocytes to avoid the spawning of unfertilized oocytes
