orcokinins

Orcokinins constitute a family of peptides found only in crustaceans. Orcokinin (NFDEIDRSGFGFN) (also: Asn13-orcokinin) from the nervous system of the crayfish Orconectes limosus has been identified by Stangier et al (1992). Analogs Ser9-orcokinin (NFDEIDRSSFGFN), Ala13-orcokinin (NFDEIDRSGFGFA), and Val13-orkoninin (NFDEIDRSGFGFV) from the thoracic ganglia of the shore crab Carcinus maenas have been described by Bungart et al (1995). Yasuda-Kamatani Y and Yasuda (2000) have identified various ocokinins in the red swamp crayfish, Procambarus clarkii, and also cloned two different cDNAs encoding ... ... ... ... ...
