[heat shock protein 10] Gene symbol HSPE1 [heat shock protein family E (Hsp10) member 1], also referred to as heat shock 10 kDa protein 1].
The 10 kDa protein hsp10 is one of the heat shock proteins, homologs of which have been identified in various organisms. The gene has been cloned by Hansen et al (2003) and Monzini et al (1994). Monzini et al (1994) have reported that the bovine and human cDNAs are completely identical. The Escherichia coli homolog of this protein is called GroES or chaperonin 10 (abbr. cpn10).
