endolyn
Endolyn, called also endolyn-78, is a 78 kDa glycoprotein that is present in the membranes of both endosomes and lysosomes, identified by a monoclonal antibody raised against rat liver lysosomal membranes (Croze et al, 1989). The protein has been identified in rat hepatoma cells (Fu5C8) and kidney cells (NRK). Rat endolyn is the rat ortholog of mouse MGC-24v (Chan et al, 2001), an isoform of a protein identified originally as MGC-24 [multiglycosylated core protein-24].
