[dickkopf-related protein 2] (from German dick = thick; Kopf = head) abbr. dkk-2. Also: dickkopf-related protein 2 or dickkopf homolog 2. The protein (224 amino acids) is related to the other members of the dickkopf family (dickkopf-1, dickkopf-3, dickkopf-4) (Krupnik et al, 1999). The protein contains two distinct cysteine-rich domains in which the positions of 10 cysteine residues are highly conserved between members of the dickkopf family (Krupnik et al, 1999). Katoh and Katoh (2005) have reported a comparison of the genomic structures and features of dickkopf-2 in rodents and humans.
