dRYamide-1 |
DRYLAIV motif |
KIAA1589 |
||
This Drosophila melanogaster peptide, identified by Ida et al (2011), is encoded by gene CG40733, which also gives rise to dRYamide-1. The peptide has no significant structural similarities to known bioactive peptides. The receptor for this peptide has been identified by Ida et al (2011) as NepYR [Neuropeptide Y receptor-like].
Maeda et al (2015) have reported that the neuropeptide decreases feeding motivation in the blowfly Phormia regina by suppressing the early feeding behavior called proboscis extension reflex. Unlike dRYamide-1, dRYamide-2 does not decrease the responsiveness of the sugar receptor.
