This fragment of human casein-beta with the sequence GRVMPVLKSPTIPFFDPQI (Gly-Arg-Val-Met-Pro-Val-Leu-Lys-Ser-Pro-Thr-Ile-Pro-Phe-Phe-Asp-Pro-Gln-Ile) has been identified by Cai J et al (2021), who referred to the peptide as BCCY-1. The peptide is abundant in human milk with lower levels in preterm milk than in term milk. BCCY-1 is not cytotoxic and possesses immunomodulatory effects in that it enhances monocyte migration via increasing production of chemokines and cytokines such as CCL2, CCL7, IL1-beta ... ... ... ...
