Also: lactalbumin-alpha(97-104). This peptide is a subfragment of alpha-lactalbumin with the sequence DKVGINYW (Asp-Lys-Val-Gly-Ile-Asn-Tyr-Trp). It is obtained by proteolytic digestion of whey protein concentrates. The peptide is a potent inhibitor of angiotensin-1 converting enzyme (CD143) but does not remain stable in the presence of gastrointestinal enzymes (Tavares et al (2011). See also: lactokinins.
