The authors have referred to the factor also as C1qdc2 [C1q domain-containing protein 2] and CTRP12 [C1q/TNF-related protein 12], a member of the C1q family of proteins. Another designation is C1QTNF12 [C1q/TNF-related protein 12, Complement C1q tumor necrosis factor-related protein 12, C1q and tumor necrosis factor related protein 12]. The approved gene symbol is FAM132A [family with sequence similarity 132 member A].
