[ZIP kinase; Zipper interacting kinase] This nuclear serine/threonine-specific protein kinase contains a leucine zipper domain (Kawai et al, 1998). It is known also as DAPK3 [death-associated protein kinase-3, DAP kinase 3]. ZIPK cDNA has been cloned independently as Dlk [DAP-like kinase], with its kinase domain showing 81 % amino acid sequence identity to DAP kinase (death-associated protein kinase) (Kögel et al, 1998).
