[Wnt family member 12; wingless-type MMTV integration site family member 12] Wnt-12 is a member of the Wnt family of structurally related genes that encode secreted extracellular signaling factors. Murine Wnt-12 has been isolated by Adamson et al (1994). It is the same as the genes isolated by Lee et al (1995), Hardiman et al (1997), and Wang and Shackleford (1996) and called Wnt-10b. Hardiman et al (1996) have shown that Wnt-12 is expressed by mouse T-cells. Expression is induced in T-helper cells after cell activation.
The human Wnt-12 gene has been identified by Bui et al (1997). These authors have reported also overexpression in some primary breast carcinomas. Mouse
