This peptide has been identified in a hydrolysate of duck skin byproducts hydrolyzed using nine proteases (Alcalase, Collagenase, Flavourzyme, Neutrase, papain, pepsin, Protamex, trypsin, and alpha-chymotrypsin) (Lee SJ et al, 2012). WYPAAP is an inhibitor of ACE [angiotensin-converting enzyme] and acts as an antihypertensive peptide, significantly decreasing blood pressure and heart rate in spontaneously hypertensive rats.
