This is a splice variant of human CEACAM1 [CEA-related cell adhesion molecule 1; Carcinoembryonic antigen-related cell adhesion molecule 1] (termed CEACAM1-3C2) and corresponds to BGPi [biliary glycoprotein i] (Kuroki et al, 1991). The variant lacks the transmembrane and cytoplasmic domain that exist in other variants (BGPa, BGPb, BGPc and BGPd).
