[Vascular endothelial growth factor-206b] Another designation is VEGF-A206b [Vascular endothelial growth factor A206b]. The terms VEGF(xxx)b and VEGF(xxx) refer to splice isoforms of VEGF (VEGF-A). VEGF-206b is an isoform of VEGF-206 (itself an isoform of VEGF) that lacks sequences from exon 8a (see: VEGF-A for explanation and nomenclature). VEGF-206 is an anti-angiogenic splice isoform. (Qiu et al, 2009).
