[U937 suppressor factor] This biochemically uncharacterized factor of 69 kDa is found in the conditioned medium of U937 cells. U937SF inhibits antigen/mitogen induced proliferation of human peripheral blood mononuclear cells. It also depresses IL2 production and IL2 receptor (CD25) expression in peripheral blood mononuclear cells stimulated with an antigen but not with a mitogen.
U937SF does not affect functions of monocytes such as antigen processing and IL1 production or the expression of T-cell receptor (TCR) or CD3 molecules on the surface of
