TSLP
(approved gene symbol) [thymic stromal derived lymphopoietin; Thymic stromal lymphopoietin] Mouse TSLP is a protein of 121 amino acids. The human counterpart (131 amino acids) has been cloned by Quentmeier et al (2001). TSLP has two slice variants, a long form (lfTSLP) containing all four exons, and a short form, lacking two exons (sfTSLP). Only long-form TSLP, which is a crucial cytokine for the induction of inflammatory Th2 responses, is highly induced by dsRNA in bronchial epithelial cells (Harada et al, 2009).
