TNF-BF

[tumor necrosis factor blocking factor] This factor of 28 kDa is isolated from serum ultrafiltrates of tumor patients. It is obtained by processing of the aminoterminal end of the extracellular domain of the TNF-alpha membrane receptor. A similar factor is known as TNF binding protein (TNFBP-1). It is a soluble 60 kDa fragment of the extracellular TNF-alpha receptor domain.
