TECK

[thymus-expressed chemokine] This factor has been identified in murine and human thymus tissues (Vicari et al, 1997). It is produced by thymic dendritic cells. Bone marrow-derived dendritic cells do not express TECK. TECK mRNA is detected at substantial levels in the small intestine and at low levels in the liver.

TECK has weak homology to other CC-Chemokines and maps to mouse chromosome 8. An alternative designation is SCYA25 [small inducible cytokine A25]. In the systematic nomenclature of chemokines the designation for TECK is CCL25. See also: SCY family of cytokines for a systematic ... ... ... ...
