The T24 cell line has been established from a highly malignant grade III human urinary bladder carcinoma (Bubenic et al, 1973). The conditioned medium of T24 cells contains a factor described initially as T24 BCDF [T24 B-cell differentiation factor], which has been identified as IL6. Amann et al (1998) have reported that T24 cells spontaneously secrete large amounts of MCP-1 (approximately 7000 pg/mL), which increases under nutritive stress to 13,000 pg/mL. Hayashi et al (1994) have reported that T24 cells conditioned medium contains IL1-alpha and IL1-beta.
