Si-alpha2

Si-alpha2 is a plant defensin from Sorghum bicolor (Bloch and Richardson, 1991; Nitti et al, 1995). This plant defensin belongs to the alpha-amylase inhibitor type and has been reported to inhibit alpha-amylases from insects and humans. The protein shows no antifungal activity and may play a role in the protection against herbivores.
