(approved gene symbol) [serine/threonine kinase 3] STK3 is being referred to also as MST-2 [Mammalian sterile 20-like 2; STE20-like protein kinase 2] (Creasy and Chernoff, 1995) and has been identified as a kinase activated by staurosporine and FAS ligand, agents that promote cell death by apoptosis (Taylor et al, 1996; Lee et al, 2001).
