SLG2

[SIGLEC-like gene 2] This gene has been identified by Yousef et al (2001). Three splice variants have been identified. The encoded protein shows 40-66 % homology with SIGLEC-5, SIGLEC-6, SIGLEC-7, SIGLEC-8, AND SIGLEC-9. Sequence analysis shows that the protein is the same as SIGLEC-10.

In humans, the gene is expressed primarily in the bone marrow, spleen, brain, small intestine, colon, and spinal cord.
