The RNASE4 gene has been cloned by Rosenberg and Dyer (1995). RNASE4 is a member of the superfamily of secreted ribonucleases that shares the same promoters with angiogenin and is co-expressed with angiogenin. RNASE4 protein is able to induce angiogenesis in in vitro, ex vivo, and in vivo assays.
