RIP

[receptor interacting protein] RIP (74 kDa) (also RIP1 [receptor interacting protein-1]) has been shown to be a serine-threonine kinase. The human gene has been cloned by Hsu et al (1996). The approved gene symbol is RIPK1 [receptor-interacting serine/threonine kinase 1].

This kinase has been identified by virtue of its ability to bind to the death domain of APO-1 (Stanger et al, 1995). The kinase is recruited also by another protein, TRADD to the type 1 TNF receptor in a process dependent on TNF (Hsu et al, 1996). The death domains of RIP and two other signaling proteins, TRADD, and ... ... ... ... ... Subscribe to continue reading! ... ...
