This monoclonal mouse antibody has been prepared by immunizing mice with rat thymocyte glycoprotein Brideau et al, 1980). The antibody recognizes a subset of rat peripheral T-cells OX 8 labels all peripheral T-cells that are unlabeled by the W3/25 monoclonal antibody. There are no peripheral T-cells that are labelled by both antibodies. 90 % of thymocytes are doubly labeled. Thoracic duct lymphocytes of congenitally athymic nude rats are not labeled by either antibody, but spleens of such animals contain cells labelled by both antibodies. OX9(+) cells
