OIP

[osteogenesis inhibitory protein] This biochemically uncharacterized factor is obtained from bone material. It antagonizes the biological activities of BMP (bone morphogenetic proteins) in vivo and in vitro. OIP reduces the BMP induced differentiation of mesenchymal cells and inhibits the synthesis of glycosaminoglycans in the extracellular matrix of cells.
