[oncostatin M inducible gene-37] OIG37 is the murine homolog of gadd45-gamma (see: gadd45). (Nakayama et al, 1999). The protein is known also as CR6 [cytokine response gene 6] and has been identified independently also as DDIT2 [DNA damage-inducible transcript-2] and GRP17 [gadd-related protein 17 kDa].
Nakayama et al (1999) have shown that OIG37 expression is induced by oncostatin M and the IL6 family of cytokines and that this induction is mediated through STAT3. Expression of OIG37 in NIH 3T3 and IL3 dependent BaF3
