[osteoblast activating peptide] This peptide (24 amino acids; LDLNLELSKFRMPQPSSGRESPRH) from the rat stomach has been purified by Fukushima et al (2010). The peptide appears to be derived from the C-terminus NDUFV3 [NADH dehydrogenase (ubiquinone) flavoprotein 3; NADH-ubiquinone oxidoreductase subunit V3], a 9 kDa subunit of NADH-ubiquinone oxidoreductase known also as Renal carcinoma antigen NY-REN-4 or simply as REN-4. It might, therefore, qualify as a cryptide.
OBAP significantly increases the expression of osteoblast differentiation
