A family of polymorphic highly glycosylated cell surface proteins of various molecular weights (50 kDa, NCA-50; 55 kDa, NCA-55; 90 kDa, NCA-90; 95 kDa, NCA-95; 160 kDa, NCA-160) that are found to be expressed in normal human tissues without showing any organ or tissue specificity. Kuroki et al (1990) have reported that nonspecific cross-reacting antigens (expressed by human granulocytes) exist in at least six species with different peptide sizes and membrane anchoring forms. They represent splice variants. These antigens are immunologically related to carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA). Expression has been observed on the cell surface of granulocytes,
