Neuregulin-4
abbr. NRG4 (approved gene symbol). An alternative designation is HRG4 [heregulin-4].
This factor belongs to the family of Neuregulins. It acts through the erbB4 receptor (HER4) and can displace Neuregulin-1 bound to this receptor. Neuregulin-4 does not bind to erbB1, erbB2 or erbB3 (Harari et al, 1999; Hobbs et al, 2002).
Hayes et al (2007) have reported five neuregulin-4 variants, all of which share the same translation initiation site. NRG4A1 and NRG4A2
