[natural killer resistance inducing factor] This biochemically uncharacterized factor of approximately 36 kDa is found in the conditioned medium of some tumor cells (Serrano et al, 1989). It blocks the cytotoxic activity of NK-cells. It does not block the binding capacity of the target and effector cells, nor does it affect target susceptibility to LAK cells or cytotoxic T-cells.
