[Shope fibroma virus N1R protein] This proteins is encoded by the single complete open reading frame in the BamHI-N fragment of the Leporipoxvirus Shope fibroma virus (Upton et al, 1994). The protein contains a C-terminal RING finger domain. The protein is localized primarily to the virus factories in the cytoplasm of infected cells and, to a lesser degree, the host cell nucleus. A complete homolog of the Shope fibroma virus gene is present also in variola virus, myxoma virus, mousepox virus (see: Ectromelia virus p28 protein), and vaccinia virus strain IHD-W. Vaccinia virus strain Copenhagen does not contain the gene (see also: vaccinia virus p28 protein and myxoma virus M143R protein
