Myonectin
This name has been given to a secreted protein the expression of which is observed in skeletal muscle (Seldin et al, 2012) (see also: myokines). The protein contains a C1q domain, and the authors refer to the gene as CTRP15 [C1q/TNF-related protein 15]. The protein is being referred to also as C1QTNF15 [C1q/TNF-related protein 15, Complement C1q tumor necrosis factor-related protein 15, C1q and tumor necrosis factor related protein 15]. A previous gene symbol was FAM132B [family with sequence similarity 132 member B], which has been replaced now by ERFE [erythroferrone].
