MT6-MMP

[Membrane-type matrix metalloproteinase-6] Also: MT-MMP-6. This membrane-bound matrix metalloproteinase has been isolated from leukocytes and appears to be expressed specifically in leukocytes (Pei et al, 1999). Pei et al (1999) originally had named the enzyme leukolysin. The new designation is MMP-25 [matrix metalloproteinase-25]. Bernot et al (1998) have cloned MMP-25 in the course of establishing a transcription map of the genome region covering the Familial Mediterranean fever (FMF) locus (see also: Pyrin) and referred to MMP-25 as MMP-20A [ ... ... ... ...
