[monocyte-derived neutrophil-activating peptide] This factor is produced by monocytes and activates neutrophils (Schröder et al, 1987, 1988; Kowalski and Denhardt, 1989). It is identical with IL8 and therefore belongs to the family of chemotactic cytokines known as Chemokines. The new designation is CXCL8 and the factor is known also as SCYB8.
